Bank Debt/Leveraged Loan Investing

Hi I'm interviewing with a CLO loan shop with a BDC out in New York and was wondering what the career progression is and if there is flexibility in this type of product. I know that distressed funds tend to recruit people from high yields and sell side leveraged finance. I'm just wondering if investing in leveraged loans is pigeon holing myself since it's a lower risk product. I have experience in equities but want to see what the exit options for this type of role is.

Yes. It would be investing in bank debt

Bump Anyone?

Definitely an uphill battle. I think the standard path is you stick to debt investing. CLO investing is different from direct lending and would probably pigeon hole you even more. If it's direct lending, I know two guys from 2 of the best direct lending shops that landed top L/S equity funds. It's hard obviously
