Does anyone have any color on Bayview Asset Management in Miami and how well they're perceived in the mortgage investing space? Looking for more targeted feedback other than their focus, which, on the investment side is RV investing in whole loans (non-performing and re-performing), mbs, abs. How analytical is RV loan investing and different from a fundamental value perspective? Can anyone opine on a move there from a BB IB program out of NYC?

They run a broad structured credit fund that will invest across that spectrum (CMBS, RMBS, CLO, ABS) as well as many drawdown vehicles that exploits unique opportunities that may have less liquidity to be sized any higher in the main fund (MSRs, NPLS, RPLS). In regards to loan analysis you will spend a lot of time breaking down the fundamentals of each loan in a pool and the borrowers performance history as the goal is to get the loans back to reperforming. This process typically involves understanding title issues and working with the owner to make modifications on the original loan.
