BB Pubfin vs MM tech

Would you join a legit public finance group at a BB over a legit middle market TMT/hcare/life sci group?

Base pay, signing, location etc all equal. I'm concerned that the exit opps after pub fin are too narrow, although it comes with a strong brand name on the resume. MM bank is decent and is (obviously) exposed to more types of transactions. Opinions, please.

I can see why you reacted the way you did.

I meant to say: consider these as the BBs to choose from. In case you would consider one BB over the other BB or BB over MM, etc. That was the premise of my post; I didn't lay that out too explicitly so you can LOL all you want, homeboy.

Dont do public finance, it's not investment banking, you won't have exit opps outside of public finance. Take the MMM

What do you guys think about taking an internship in public finance? I go to a non target, and those are the only banking jobs that they recruit here for.

I've heard that people in public finance work less than other IB groups. Are we talking only 80 hours a week instead of 100? Or is it even less than that?

Public Finance is pretty Booring. Hours vary by the firm, but I doubt you work past midnight, except when RFP's are due. Bonus range is very weak in Munis. As someone said earlier, once you start with Munis, you end up getting stuck in them. Try it out for the summer, and see your career options from all sides before you decide to take that route.
