Belt Loop: Which way does it go?
What is the proper way to put a belt through the loop. Clockwise or counterclockwise? I had an argument wiht my friend about this, can someone fill me in?

I just bought silver banannas so that I could throw monkey shit at you.
I've always heard that the answer depends on whether your right or left handed. Which ever hand is the dominant should be side that the buckle is on. That's what I've heard. That's the rule I follow. I don't know if I'm right or wrong, but do what works for you.
I think this makes a lot of sense. I wear my watch on my right hand because I'm left handed, even though most people consider that wrong.
Make sure you never mention beta to your friend. You'll be bickering like little housewives for years!
Have you tried looping it around your neck yet?
Banana points for you. Was the perfect response to such a dumb thread.
^ LOL
The metal buckle should be in your left hand. If you can't put your belt on, how will you survive in Investment Banking?
Dude, it clearly goes on the right side. Everyone knows that. Next you're going to tell us you're one of those assholes who puts the toilet paper roll on so it feeds from the bottom. You need to get with the program.
WSO actually offers a guide on belt looping, toilet roll usage and what socks to wear for a SA position.
hahaha i died laughing
Really?
Why not just use toilet paper as a belt? Get the sturdy brand so you can tie it to form a makeshift buckle.
Aren't you supposed to be banned?
Check the time-stamp on this thread... Useless gravedig.
Hah well to answer the question, it is suppose to go counter-clockwise (through the left side first), though I usually go clockwise. If you look at a belt buckle with a logo/text (which you shouldn't be wearing in the first place, but for the sake of argument), it is designed to go counter.
Counter Clockwise
If you look at the back of the belt any writing on the back to be upright will always be go to the left or counter clockwise. If you look at any buckle with a design, logo, words or numbers in order for them to be upright you always go to the left or counter clockwise.
I loop mine in counter clockwise -- frankly I'd never even considered doing it the other way. My mind is absolutely blown from this revelation.
This is as good as the time I heard you could sit on the toilet backwards -- well, almost as good.
Whether you prefer the toilet paper to feed off the top or bottom, is almost completely dependent on whether you wipe your ass sitting or standing. Sitters = top. Standers = bottom.
If you can show me any buckle with a design, logo, words or numbers that are right side up when you go to the right or clockwise, then I will say belts are made to go either way. If you can show me any belt with writing on the back that would be right side up if you go to the right or clockwise then I will say belts are made to go either way. It can't be coincidence that every belt that has a buckle with a logo, words etc on it needs to go left or counter clockwise in order to be right side up. And it can't be coincidence that any belt that has words on the back needs to go to the left or counter clockwise to be right side up. I think these two facts alone says belts are made to go to the left or counter clockwise. Now I have to admit that I can only state these facts about men's belts, women's belts may be made to go the other way I don't know I've never wore a women's belt and I don't intent to any time in the future either.
