Best coverage groups at JPM NY?
Buddy is going through the group process - want to know best rated groups at JPM NY in terms of prestige, exit opps, pay (culture completely irrelevant... my buddy can grind if he/she has to). Thanks

As a junior banker, pay is the same at JPM across groups. They do it based on your ranking letter. So an 'M' in Oil & Gas coverage vs an 'M' in Consumer & Retail is going to get the same pay. 'M' is average, 'M+' is above average, and 'E' is the best. They do a little bit of differentiation within each of those, but only by a couple K.
For exit opps, my friends in coverage groups did better than those in product groups. I don't think the industry really matters - do one that interests you and you would be good at so you can get the highest rank possible.
