Big 4 Accounting Summer Recruitment (Canada) - Inquiry

Hi guys,

I am currently a sophomore at a non-target Canadian school and I am applying to big 4 firms as a backup for summer 2011. I would like to work in the corporate finance group of each firm, but (from this school especially) they mainly take kids for audit.

I am wondering:

(1) How valuable is big4 audit experience as a sophomore?

(2) For Deloitte, they let us chose from audit, tax, enterprise risk, financial advisory, I chose financial advisory as my 1st pick, should audit or enterprise risk be my 2nd pick? Which is more relevant to banking? All I know is that enterprise risk is "harder to get into", but both aren't exactly front-office-esque.

(3) Any idea what these interviews are like (relative to banking interviews)?

Thanks

Internships are fairly hard to get after your sophomore year, so I would take an offer if you get one.

If the interviews are the same as in the US (I would assume they are) then they will be entirely behavioral (tell me about a time you had to be a leader, etc.)

You're not going to learn too much that applies to banking from any of these internships...I would probably go with an advisory internship as it may be perceived better than an audit internship.

From what I've heard, interviews are quite qualitative and primarily fit - they like seeing examples where you've worked well in a team, or if you've had client interaction in past internships to describe them, so on. Neither enterprise risk or audit are all that relevant for banking - at least not at the intern level (I think auditors getting their CA can argue their accounting knowledge is useful for banking).
