Big 4 Consulting v. Startup
I currently will have the choice of working for a small, 10 person startup internet software company with 2 mil of revenue with a service sold to investment managers, or working for a big 4 consulting as an it consultant.
You have to decide what is more important to you, the security of a steady paycheck or the upside of taking a risk on a start-up.
I am looking for a little more detailed, where IT consulting at said big 4 may lead me, whether the startup is worth the risk, what b schools will look at etc.
if you have nothing else on your resume / background to speak to your professional experience, do the consulting.

i have internships since freshman year, one at a fortune 500 in the cfo and 2 at said big 4 it consulting
Assuming the market for this software is much bigger than $2 million I would say go the start-up route. How long has it taken them to get to $2 million? How fast have they been growing?

Agreed - since you posted this in the consulting forum, I assume you want to get into management consulting eventually. If that's the case, you're better off going into the start-up. Big4 consulting, fair or not, will taint your resume and will be a pretty big hurdle in the future. Also, the start-up will be more interesting, you will probably learn more and there is more upside.
I have much more respect for people working at a startup than for people working at Big 4. Even a failed startup experience can be extremely rewarding in terms of experience.
At my MBB office, I know of two people who sold startups before joining us. Their startups were no crazy success stories, but at least they did it - most applicants SAY they are 'entrepreneurial'. Also, the only ex-Big4 people at our office came in after an MBA.
Last remark: Just make sure the startup is worth it. Follow your guts.
