Big Four Recruiting IBD

Hi all,

Im a soph at a non target. Summered this summer at ML PWM and am pretty set on IB post grad if its even possible at this point. Not really trying to cold call IB Boutiques for next summer yet but my school is having a career fair next week and all the big 4 accounting firms are going to be there but virtually no IBs. Question is, I know PWC and Deloitte have IBD-like divisions like M&A and Capital Markets, so do you think it is worth going to ask them about those positions even though they are their for audit? Are there even internship programs for these divisions at big 4?

I'm probably going regardless, but I'd just like to ask some insightful questions and make the best of it. Thanks

big4 goes there to recruit for audit, tax and a few advisory groups (Business Advisory, IT Risk Advisory) but not Transaction Advisory. Usually, big4 only recruits internally ppl from Audit groups after 1-3 years depending on the group (M&A adv, restructuring adv, due diligence adv), needs, and availability of its target candidates. u can ask, but u'd pretty much need to go thru audit.
