Biggest GPA whore firms? Least?
Was wondering which firms have the biggest reputations for GPA? Any leeway for science majors? Really feels like most GPAs for MBB are 3.7+. I'm a computational statistics/econometrics major at a semi-target, and am a bit nervous about my 3.5 despite that being relatively high for the major.
pfft. They must differentiate between majors, a 3.5 in your area is fine. Now get a top gmat score.
Don't worry about it, just network with alumni. You're close enough. I got finals (and an offer from one) with all 3 MBB with a 3.5 in a business major. They look at more than just GPA.
Fairly confident most firms/offices differentiate between majors/fields. Likewise, GPA is far from the only factor playing a role in the final decision.
If you're at a target, most likely the people that are reviewing your resume are alums of your school. We know what GPAs mean. For example, at my school my general filter was - 3.6+ for Business / Liberal Arts; 3.4 for Science; 3.1 for Engineering. If you got .1 above that I stopped looking at your GPA.
