You want 2 phones, although most people go with the iphone because the bank gives them a blackberry. You will need a personal phone so that you can text and do things on it that might not be acceptable on the bank's phone. I'm not talking about sexting a 15 year old, but there are a lot of crude jokes/other shit that you shouldn't have on your work phone...also it is nice to be keeping your business and personal stuff separate.

Keep two separate phones.

Take back whatever pos blackberry you just bought and get an android based phone. Samsuns galaxy S, Droid X, HTC incredible, possibly Droid 1 if you are tech savvy and want ROMS.

You're born, you take shit. You get out in the world, you take more shit. You climb a little higher, you take less shit. Till one day you're up in the rarefied atmosphere and you've forgotten what shit even looks like. Welcome to the layer cake, son.

swype is an amazing program. There is really no other way to explain it.

The fascinate is a good phone as well.

I'll offer the dissenting opinion here and say I hated having two phones. It's a huge pain as a guy to have to carry two relatively bulky smart phones in your pocket. It's also confusing because you have to remember to always call your friends on the personal phone and always call coworkers on the work phone. Soon you forget, and friends are calling your work phone, your associate is calling your personal phone, and it's a giant clusterfuck.

Just keep two separate email accounts on the same device and don't be a moron.

I'm giving you a SB for using the word CLUSTERFUCK........probably my favorite curse word because it is a fuck derivative that you can't use it in every situation and its imaginative potential is infinite.

Banks can see anything you do with your BB - it's their property, and the time you spend with it is company time. There was a recent supreme court case on this, where a cop was disciplined by the city for inappropriate texts sent from his work phone, and scotus ruled it was all kosher.

Most people I know carry two phones, though usually only one is a BB. I also know a few guys who go just with the corporate phone, and usually keep their personal line and have it set to auto-forward to their BB. As people have pointed out, what you'll be able to do with your bb will vary from firm to firm - some places lock it down completely, some just block bbm, some add a firewall so you can't access inappropriate sites, and some will let you use it to coordinate with your thai hooker for all they care. For my money, carrying two phones is worth it, especially if you like to listen to music on your commute, as BB's suck as media players (and may have that functionality disabled anyway). What that other phone is is entirely up to you.
