ive got two friends at BX; one in the resi group and one in AM coming from target schools; both had mediocre internships and underqualifed. Not sure what "Big dick" Jon Gray is doing.
I've always been curious, is Blackstone analyst the equivalent of associate at other firms (i.e. need 2 years of banking) and then associate=senior associate? I've seen some people on linkedin, with 2 years of banking who then went to Blackstone as analysts, so that seems to be the case, unless I am misrembering things
Don't know how it is in the US, but in Europe, you join as Analyst after 2y of banking and will be promoted to Assoc following January. Sucks quite a bit purely from a comp perspective but its BX after all.

Incoming A1 here at BX. 110 base with 10 signing and HR said they are a “bonus heavy firm” whatever that means
110 + 70-100
Analyst 2 should be ~$230k (total comp, ~50/50 split) with some upside potential. Hoping raises come through soon at BX - it's about time.
Also incoming BX An1 and this is exactly what I was told as well.
Any idea what the breakdown is for VP/Principal?

You must be really jealous if instead of being happy for your supposed friends, you're calling them "mediocre" and "underqualified" online.
also, heard that big REPE mega funds (STWD, KKR, Apollo) all pumped above blackstone
