Blowing it Out Last Spring Break

Last year before I get worked like I dog and I'm trying to blow it out spring break. I got some cash saved up and I'll be getting signing bonus before I head out even though I don't want to go through it too much.

Bottom Line- What are the craziest destinations for a 5-6 night trip? Would like somewhere that has fun activities and a lot of water.

If anyone has any crazy stories of places where I could end up in a crazy situation, that'd be appreciated as well.

Do yourself a favor and skip Panama City. I went there one year for spring break and would list it as one of the trashiest places in America. The scene is lame, the quality of talent is poor, and everyone is a hick. I also went to Cancun, Acapulco and Europe during my other college years and would say that Acapulco was by far the best week of my life. Its cheap, talent is good, somewhat classier (on a relative basis, its SB!), the clubs are cool, the hotels are decent, water is clear, beer is cold...just thinking about it makes me want to go back to college.

Some other cool places would be the DR (although its dirty and everyone is a hooker), Columbia, Buenos Aires, and Moscow.

If you have never been to Acapulco and you are in college, you should go. Have fun. All of your future guy trips will entail trying to relive the nights you had in places like Acapulco and Cartegena...enjoy it while you can

I hear Cabo San Lucas is pretty hot for spring break, too.

My perspective on spring break is completely skewed, however...but that's what happens when you live in a spring break destination and can have it any day you want.

Panama City is pretty trashy, I went there for my last spring break, largely bc my buddies couldn't afford to go to Mexico, even though I really wanted to do Cancun/Acapulco. Can still be a wild time if a lot of your friends go, but it is honestly the trashiest place I have ever been to.

Honestly, now that I'm working in banking, I can't believe how much I missed college. This job has made me miserable, less excited about anything out there, and I can't believe how much I miss my friends in college and the wild nights, spring breaks, etc. Its mostly bc this job just sucks 98% of the time, and makes you miss college, but I think most recent grads wouldn't mind going back.

Live it up man - you only get college once (though me and a buddy have considered quitting our jobs and re-enrolling for a semester at ASU), and if you're doing banking, get ready to work like a dog (as you noted).

Kind of ironic, I remember a year ago when I accepting my FT offer reading a thread like this, and now I'm writing it from the otherside of the table.

Sorry....that was a rant....just got a huge terd dumped on my desk and I have to cancel going to a concert this wknd...

If only I could rewind four years....

I definitely hear you on that. I'm trying to do what I can while I still have free time and free weekends. Wish I could get out to Thailand for a while, but if anyone hasn't been to Acapulco, I'd highly recommend it as well. Went a while back and its one of the coolest places I've been. North shore DR is awesome too along with Punta Cana (hooker thing is terribly true).

Trying to break out of the norm this year though. Any thoughts on Aruba or Belize? Cancun is pretty trashy in comparison to Acapulco....

You looked into Bora Bora? With a group of friends that place could be AMAZING.

Aruba is nice too, definitely hit that up if you can. I've been to thailand and can't say I enjoyed it, again I felt it was fairly trashy in Bangkok, if you want far east check out Malaysia, loved it there, the people are awesome.

I did PCB last year and it was barebones. That said if it's your senior year and your friends are going, so don't think twice about attending after reading the above posts. You're never going to get a chance to see all these guys & girls again, assuming all of your buddies didn't make it out to the street. Hopefully you hangout with people that aren't going into financial services as well.

When I was down there last year I was in the elevator and one of my buddies whom had just got a call for his SA offer. Needless to say he was stolked, and happened to be talking about it in the elevator as we made our way to the beach. There were two guys in the elevator with us, coming down from the penthouse sweet on the top floor, and when we got off the elevator at beach level one guy said, "You know what's better than working on Wall Street, (pause) Having a trust fund." Then simply walked away lol - jackass

I would recommend... Miami for spring break. Specifically during the Winter Music Conference (WMC) / Ultra Music Festival (UMF).

It is unreal. Every single one of the world's top trance/house/electro DJ there all in one week playing at clubs and at a humongous rave at the end. The likes of Armin van Buuren, Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, David Guetta, Fedde le Grand, Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia, Benny Benassi, Moby, Carl Cox, Bloody Beetroots, Boys Noize, etc etc.

WARNING: not for the weak. Clubs will consistently go past 8am and even into the next afternoon. They get special permits just for this week.

Music video made at MIA this WMC/UMF past spring break...
