Blue-collar IB
Shout out to all the former blue-collar bankers out there.
I'm from a blue collar background and proud that my family has roots of working hard, not glamorous jobs. They don't know the difference between an investment banker (me) and a bank teller. I'm learning about Hermes belts and the tierachy , but if I'm honest I got a ways to go before fitting in this new world.
Working in an urban environment and eventually want to be a rainmaker. Any tips? time to learn squash/golf/sailing? start volunteering at private schools or museums? How does one even join a country club? Time is obviously limited but I know blending in is important for my career long term. I have a feeling what got me here isn't enough to take me to the top.

Let me know when you figure it out, signed fellow blue-collar banker. Feels like everyone around me spent their life growing up learning this stuff.
