bofa vs. citi

contemplating two offers right now. bofa or citi.

basically whether i work in a sweatshop or work in a easygoing sweatshop. how important is prestige? i guess models after models is what you want coming out of analyst program? just curious whether anyone working in either places have a good opinion on this. it seems that it's pretty easy to jump around nowadays, especially thru headhunters.

but yes you are not the first one to ask how I know so much w/o actually doing it....but hey thats the power of the internet you get to find out a TON of information w/o ever having to do it firsthand.

  • I think the information comes easier to me, since I've read it time and time again while building my webpage on resources one can use to get a job in IB.

Great, we have a IB "know-it-all" who hasn't even thouched this shit before. No offense dude, but your comments aren't inspiring. I like to read clean, concise and to the point shit that wakes me up.

When you say "Citi is the most global bank, so you'll have more opportunities for international travel," so what? That's already kind of assumed.

Apologies for hijacking this thread.

its not assumed, speak to any CG IB employee and they'll tell you that Citi is the most global bank. They pride themselves on it...its their thing. I got that comment from 3 analysts, and a VP, hell they even told me...when you get asked what sets us apart, they are only looking to hear the word global.

but hey noone is forcing you to read my comments, ...so when you go in for the interview at CG and you get asked what sets them apart, you can go ahead and tell them whatever you think is the correct answer.

There is a reason my username tells everyone that I'm not a banker, and why in my profile I'm using prospective monkey...and if you think my comments are bullshit...then go ahead and disregard them.

But hey while we are on the subject...are you in IB? or are you same as me...except you chose not to disclose that you a "perspective monkey"...but instead chose to hide behind "A-Hole" like a coward?

To make your prior post beefier, support it with "I got that comment from 3 analysts, and a VP, hell they even told me...when you get asked what sets us apart, they are only looking to hear the word global." Three posts later and there's some evidence backing your ignorance.

I've been in banking for over 2 years now. Work in LA now and was in SF before. Eat me.

how is it ignorance if its the correct information? and if I supported all my information my posts would be 10 times longer.

ok you are in banking congrats...want a cookie? Maybe if more bankers contributed to people's posts I wouldn't have to give a half assed response(that you feel is incorrect), just to give the people a timely answer

yes I do regurgitate, but usually the information comes from more than 1 source so the information is more or less correct.

You make it sound that everyone who hasn't had first hand experience is ignorant...so that pretty much makes every single person on earth ignorant, because they've been told that the earth is round, but they've never seen that fact first hand.

You're going to work your ass off either way. They have sort of similar personalities in the US anyway (big commercial bank division, great banks though). I think I'd go with whomever pays the most. Start a bidding war. say something like "I'd really love to come to BoA/Citi and it's my first choice, but Citi/BoA made a more attractive offer, and I have financial obligations I can't ignore. (ask them to match the other firm's offer)" And watch them bid away. If they want you badly enough they'll offer you more money, benefits, whatever.

Anyway congrats for getting the offers...good luck choosing.

really? I didn't notice that? After all I've pretty much stated that like 4 times in this thread alone.

p.s. if this causes you to blow a head gasket...you are not cut out for banking....and you don't need to work in IB to see that.

Um how about no? My response was to prospie...and if you thought I was talking to you then you are a moron and probably a liar to boot, since noone that stupid can work in IB.

Lets examine the post:

he says: you've never worked in banking or finance in your life and you're still in college

I reply with: really? I didn't notice that? After all I've pretty much stated that like 4 times in this thread alone.

he says: STFU STFU STFU STFU

I reply with: p.s. if this causes you to blow a head gasket...you are not cut out for banking....and you don't need to work in IB to see that

Obviosly only a complete retard would think I was speaking to anyone else.

P.S. thats another 6 minutes of your time

Use the "quote" button dickwad. You'll save yourself and others a whole lot of time. I'm done.

On a seperate note to everyone else -- Is there a way to hide posts made by dumbshits?
