Bonus Discussion in 2 hours

After a year of pretty hard work, finally gonna know my number for the year. What to expect for a 1st year?

What do you say if its bad? Is this something all the analysts/associate share with each other?

Also, how do raises look? Do they just do 5% per year until they bump you to associate?

Dunno what to expect

As a junior, a good year won't swing your bonus that much. It pretty much goes all to senior team members in most cases.

In my opinion, as a junior, an optimal year is average deal flow.....enough to get good experience but not enough to crush you to death. In "good" years as a junior, you just end up working like a dog for a slightly higher bonus which isn't commensurate with the workload and the sleepless nights.

I am BB IBD coverage group my 1st year was 85k base 53k bonus 5k signing = 143k all in -- I was in top bucket.

Negligible difference here IMO, should be happy with your #.

I almost didn't get a signing bonus at all -- so I took what I could get.

This was for an off cycle recruitment position, so I'm supposing that had something to do with it as well.
