Brief GPA Question

Hi Monkeys,

I'm new here and excited to be a Chimp. I'm sure there are many GPA threads already; however, I have a brief question as I am updating my resume. Is it acceptable to round a GPA up? For example, I have a 3.79 overall--is it reasonable to state on my resume that I have a 3.8 overall? I know it's a little petty thing but I'm not sure how many digits is typically recommended.

Any help is much appreciated!

Fair Winds, Mike

Not acceptable. You should hold off on sending that resume out until your GPA is at least 3.8014.

In all seriousness, yes of course it’s acceptable.

Usually, you can round up to 0.5, meaning the max allowed is a 3.75 to a 3.8 or a 3.55 to a 3.6... and so on.
