Brooks Brothers Suits

I know its been discussed before but, are Brooks Brother's suits decent quality, they are having a sale, 2 for 500. Almost makes sense to pick up a few for that price.

If not Brooks Bros. what other suits in that price range are nice (300-500) and where can I go about finding them this holiday season?.

..wow buying two suits?

aren't you the optimistic one?

What do you call an investment banker who irons five shirts on a Sunday? Optimistic.

We're about to enter a Great Depression. Don't you want a president who's already dressed for it?

------------ I'm making it up as I go along.

I heard this one a few days ago...

What the difference between an investment banker and a pigeon?

The pigeon can still make a deposit on a Mercedes.

My first suits were Brooks Brothers suits; they are definitely a good place to a start your wardrobe and 2 for 500 sounds like a very reasonable deal. I would go for it.

I picked up a few gucci (550.00) suits from Saks on sale last x mas.... best suits I have got off the rack...

GTFO. For real? That is pretty nuts.

Although I can't bring myself to wear really nice suits to work. I have a few really nice Dolce and Armani's, but I dont wear them to work.

It actually prevents me from buying really nice suits now, because I figure its not like I can wear them to work. Does anyone else feel awkward wearing a $1500-2000 to work as an analyst/associate? It kind of reeks of douche-baggery IMO.

I typically rock Zara or more conservative looking nicer suits... Zenga's, some Armani's.

Honestly, all things considered, Brooks Brothers suits are good for what they are. It's a decent price point, but I would go factory outlet over retail, as you can do more and they are just as good quality for cheaper. Any good outlet will have some deals (ex. Saks Off Fifth/Neiman's Last Call) for the holidays.

Stick to the outlets and you'll have better luck. From what I hear, Men's Warehouse has some good deals (My buddy in legal bought a Sean Jean suit at Men's Warehouse). Joseph A. Bank is also worth checking out as well, as you may find something there. I've picked up 5-6 sweaters from there, as I'm extremely particular with my suits.

You will find some nice threads at Macy's/Bloomingdales, but be careful, because you need to look when you are there due to size issues.

I'd highly recommend the outlets if you can though. If you're in the NJ/NYC area, send me a PM and I'll point you in the right direction outlet wise.

bahaha sean john. im pretty sure the OP needs a suit for interviews at an investment bank, not at a record label

Doesn't the Brooks Brothers outlets carry what is called the '346' line? Isn't this a completely different suit than what you can buy in the retail store?

You know what, it's a nice suit. It's a charcoal gray suit with an ecru pinstripe. Extremely conservative despite the hip hop label. My buddy swears by Men's Warehouse.

It's really simple fellas.

Get to NYC. Find a custom tailor. For $500 you can get a custom suit.

For a SA or FT analyst you don't need to upgrade the wools. Basic options will be fine.

Trust me. It is heaven.

346 is terrible. I'm not an expert, just a regular Joe. 346 is cheap looking and fitting. Avoid.

I'm telling you guys. Custom tailors. They are very affordable. $500 for a great suit that will fit PERFECT.
