BTIG Insight

I recently received an Equity Research offer at BTIG. There's not much info to be found on them on this site, but since they are primarily a prime broker, I wanted to see if anyone else out there has had experience with them. Culture, management, and anything else relevant about them.

BTIG has a pretty good reputation across the street. I know them more from an S&T perspective, as they are a well know name in equity trading. Rich Greenfield is their Media and Technology Analyst and is always on Bloomberg and CNBC. They also do annual charity day that has the likes of Derek Jeter and Arod attend. They also have been building out their Fixed Income business over 2017, They've hired a bunch of distressed/HY salespeople and traders.

Culture is very old school conservative-ish from what I've been told. A lot of ex-BAML/Montgomery Securities people. The guy who chairs their IB was once the ex BofA head of equities.... Also have taken a lot of people from JMP Securities (a boutique they sit in the same building as). They do a lot of business for their size. Really trying to build out their IB platform -- perhaps adding more research coverage is a function of this. On the IB side, they do a shit ton of co-managed deals.... Their bread and butter is trading though. A name you would know only if you were an institutional investor.
