Call HR to check dress code?
I am female starting as Analyst and just wondered if it would be ok to call my HR contact and ask what dress code they have in place for females..I am planning shopping before my start day and I am unsure wether I can buy dresses or is it only suit (or skirt suit)...

If you want to avoid asking them, I would go conservative the first day and see what people around you are dressed like. I would say button down / skirt is acceptable depending on the firm you work at
If not, I'm sure it wouldn't be too much of a problem to ask HR or other professionals you know if you really want to get a headstart on shopping.
