Call with MD but rejected by HR
I scheduled a call at bank with an MD two weeks ago but 4 days ago I received an email from HR saying I had been rejected for first round. Do I tell the MD at the beginning of the call I was rejected? I'm not sure how to play it.

I would still talk to him, better for him to have a conversation with you, and possibly you can make a connection with him and who knows what will end up happening in the future, maybe you could call him up some time later down the road and it can lead to something useful.
Do you think he could potentially get me an interview? and do i tell him at the beginning of the call I was rejected?
Anything is possible, I've really good calls with the MD and sometimes they say, "let me pass this on" or "let me tell the HR person" something like that, doesnt mean they will actually do it, but if they say it they might and it obviously will get acted on if it comes from the MD
