Car as an analyst in SF?

Title says it all.... I'm going to be starting as a first-year IB analyst in SF soon and I am wondering if it would be a good idea to take my car.

Analysts in SF - did you take a car with you and would you recommend it?

If you do, live in a neighborhood with permit parking and is known for at least doable parking. Wouldn’t expect to use it to commute more just to have for weekends if you already own one. But residential parking permit is the only affordable way to go and that entirely depends on which neighborhood you live in

As others have alluded to - it depends on where you live.  NorCal and the Bay Area has a lot to offer - Napa/Sonoma/Healdsburg, Big Sur, Montery, Mendocino, Tahoe, etc.  Have a car as an analyst let me get out and explore.  Yes its hard with analyst life - but having a car to to get out and unplug when you can is nice and saves all of the logistics nightmares.

If you live in pac heights or the marina then street parking isn't terrible .  I wouldn't consider it for places like Russian Hill/Nob Hill.  I have friends who have found garage parking for $250 which isnt terrible.
