Caught in a lie, time to face the music?

My friend needs advice on a situation that I've never been in... figured that I'd pass it along to those who scheme harder than me:

The story goes that my friend got an internship as an incoming sophomore at a firm that only hires incoming seniors. The office cougar started hitting on him, thinking that he was 21 and going into his senior year. They hooked up a couple of times, summer ended... no harm no foul. The following summer they met up to get drinks and she asked him where he's going to work ft? Cornered and hoping to get laid, he decided to kick the can down the road and continue the ruse by making up some job far away from NYC.

Recently, he actually turned 21 and posted a "first legal drink" pic on social media. She liked the photo, and has been texting him things like "I miss you" ever since. They set up a time to meet over Thanksgiving. Obviously she now knows he lied (perhaps always did), and he'd look like a total weenie admitting that he lied bc he thought she wouldn't be interested otherwise. So how does he play this?

haha, ok dude... you totally got me. IT'S ME WHO NEEDS THE LIFE ADVICE. Im sad and im pathetic. I genuinely need your help mr seekingalphamale. What do I tell this milf? you seem totally cool and relevant outside of anonymous forums and I'm sure you've finessed your way out of all sorts of pickles!

dude...you just pretend you never lied...you pretend that you told the truth and if the girl brings it up...you just have a blank stare like you don't understand, then laugh, change the subject and move on. if you pretend like its not a big deal...so will the girl.

don't you be the first one to bring up the topic...ideally the topic is just never discussed, ever. (this is called "don't shoot yourself in the foot"). Most likely the girl won't care either...at your age, nobody really cares. For topics you don't want to talk about, just ignore all references to it...change the subject and move on. Don't give it any mental energy, and for god sakes don't spend any time talking about it.
