CDS index & index options: good desks?

Hi everyone,
Just wondering if you guys could share the latest on those desks and their performance in the street. I understand that the crisis hit some of those products hard. What banks remain dominant in those markets?
Thanks a lot

Index option is a dying product, stay away in my opinion.... index won't go away any time soon but i've not seen many desks make money in it... too liquid and clients hitting/lifting too big size to control it properly... .

damn I read a few articles talking about the growth in CDX index stuff and thought the index options seemed like a perfect fit for someone who's interested in something that's macro oriented, semi-quantitative, yet still requires you to understand the nuances of credit. What desks would you recommend to someone at a large Citi/JPM/BAML type bank?
