CEL & Associates RE Compensation Survey Accuracy
How accurate would say this survey is? I am currently interviewing for an asset management role for an office/industrial owner, and want to have an idea of salary range. For context, it is an associate role, and they are asking for someone with 3-5 years experience (which I have).
If you haven't already, check out this breakdown that Adventures in CRE put together, based on the review of CEL Associate's survey. Pretty helpful.
Total comp for development looks right.
RIP my 2020 total comp though. This year is going to be painful compared to last.
Surprising to me that Development MD tops out where it does. Can you shed any light on this? I would have thought surely MD's at a good dev shop would be over $1M all in?
depends what you mean by 'good dev shop.' but yes that does strike me as possible at some of the biggest firms if the projects you're working on are big enough etc.
Pretty sure their data is 25th - 75th percentile so there are definitely people at those positions making more (and less)
AN EVP at my last firm with good pedigree was making 500k plus 20% bonus. There was some co-invest available, although I'm not sure the number.
