You have a shot at H/S. Your work experience is competitive. Your academics are excellent. Your community service is Ok, but doesn't sound remarkable.

To go from "a shot" to acceptance:

  1. Have an ambitious goal that requires an MBA from H/S.
  2. Be prepared to say how you intend to use that education (especially for Stanford) and the opportunities you will receive.
  3. Be prepared to show that you are a person who makes a difference, who is a leader and contributor.

You might want to listen to our podcast this week, which is with a HBS admit coming from IB. Part of her story is tragic, but much of it shows a commitment to making the world a better place. Focus on that commitment and her purposefulness as you listen.

Best, Linda
