Incoming Freshman at Auburn looking for advice

Hi y’all, I’m going to be an incoming freshman at Auburn in the fall and was wondering what advice you might give to someone at this point in their life, whether or not it’s specific to Auburn. I also would like to note that I’m aware Auburn is in no way a target or semi-target and that the road to IB is long and difficult from anywhere, but especially from here. To also complicate things, I’m going to be a student athlete at Auburn so for now summer internships are next to impossible. I’m a hard worker who is willing to do what is necessary to try and make my dreams into reality for the future. Anyways I just wanted some advice/ideas from yall on what I could do to help myself out in the future! Thanks!

You absolutely need to transfer. There is bluntly no chance of getting into any high finance role from auburn. The name is not unknown, it is widely known and not respected. Have a good freshman year and gtfo of that place. Good luck man. Some transfer friendly schools to look into are UVA, Emory, NYU CAS & Vanderbilt

You don’t need to transfer. Network your ass off and be sharp. Anything is possible, plus you’ll have more fun and have a high GPA due to easier classes. Going to be fun getting a job in IB at an SEC school while kids at Wharton strike out. War damn Eagle.

edit: lol give me monkey shit all you want, the Auburn alumni network isn’t as bad as you’d think- look at LinkedIn.

Dude we aren’t talking about UGA here. We’re talking about fucking auburn

Consider your options, and make off that choice. Build a list of target, and semi target schools you will have a good time at too. Enjoy college as well don’t worry too hard about it. Keep ur grades up as well

People are heavily discounting the student athlete aspect here - if you are going to be playing football or basketball at Auburn you will likely have access to a network of sponsors that would gladly guide you along this path. If you are playing pretty much any other sport, transfer!

Went to another SEC school. While recruiting, I saw maybe 1 or 2 Auburn alum. You have a lot of time before recruiting so I would build your resume right now and get a high GPA next year to transfer.

Everyone is saying to transfer, and I 99% agree with that. But I’ve seen multiple Auburn students at MM (Midwest not NYC) superdays

Met a guy at Stephens who was an Auburn grad, but nobody else. Definitely better off transferring. There's a lot of small, NE liberal arts schools where athletes place well into finance, and since you're D1 in the SEC, I'd be surprised if you couldn't transfer
