CLT SA Roommate / Housing Thread
Hey y'all! I'm going down to CLT for a 2022 IB SA role. Can anyone familiar with CLT provide some insights and suggestions on housing (location, quality, pricing, etc) and other tips for a summer in the city?
Also, I'm heading to CLT knowing no one in the city so if there is anyone else interesting in connecting to discuss housing further, feel free to reach out in this thread!
Good luck Charlie

Dm me to connect. I'm going to Charlotte for the summer and I don't know anyone there.
Bumb. I’m curious about what’s a good range to spend on housing for the summer in CLT and what sites to use to find housing. AirBnB seems too expensive.
I would expect to spend around ~$3000 on summer housing if you’re there for 8-10 weeks. Rent has increased pretty significantly, but there are a few places you can find that are a little cheaper. I would recommend finding a place that’s close or along the light rail for an easy commute.
Same, never been to CLT and airbnb seem a little pricey.
Queens university offers affordable housing for summer interns. Give them a look
I’ve never been to CLT either but I’m looking to split an AirBnB with one or two other interns! Got my eyes on a few listings already
City View Towers and UNCC have summer intern housing options that are super affordable. City view is in uptown and UNCC I believe is by the light rail but pretty far from uptown. I would recommend checking Craigslist (that’s how I found my housing last summer). Just as an obvious warning for Craigslist - never agree to pay any money to someone before seeing the place/talking to a leasing office for a sublet. Other than that, I would look for places in south end that have 3 month leasing options and definitely find a roommate, 3 month leases tend to be more expensive per month.
At school nearby, where exactly in Charlotte is your office? Odds are it’s probably uptown/southend and I would not recommend staying in student housing due to possible distance from uptown. Uncc is 20 min drive to uptown. There are some spots in Plaza midwood/Noda that are really affordable if you’re trying to save a couple bucks. You’re gonna need a car as public transportation is not great down here. If you got any other questions send a PM.
What about if it's in Barclay Downs?
Also interested in splitting an Airbnb with one or two roommates.
anyone know if BofA in CLT offers parking for SA? It's such a drivable place and wouldn't seem that unusual to do so. Would open up living arrangement strategies.
I'm also going to be in Charlotte for the summer and don't know anyone there. Interested in splitting with roommates
