Using my numbers I would estimate:

1st yr 23.50-25.00/hr +3-5% 401k match +Bonuses of 0-3% of Salary

2nd year 24.50-26.00 /hr +3-5% 401k match +Bonuses of 0-3% of Salary

Like any other job DOE and location.

We serve larger businesses and commercial clients in addition to the smaller businesses and commercial clients. A community bank may have clients with a net worth between a few thousand to any amount really. Client meaning we lend to them directly not only as participants in a loan. My bank doesn't have any PWM services. These higher net worth people have accounts at the several bank with their main relationships being with PWM at bigger banks. In general community banks are not equipped to handle higher net worth individuals.

What made you get into this gig? Is it what you wanted to do, or just something you fell into. My grandmother was a teller back at Midlantic Bank for decades, but she made it sound like it was a job, not a passion. Retail banking always seemed like a slog for me, and I even grew to hate WM most of the time when I was in it.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

Bigger banks wouldn't hire me. I wouldn't even get a response to my applications.

I'm going to start gathering resources for the GMAT for the 700+ score to make the leap int o B School.
