Compensation, Sign on bonus, Relocation bonus

Hi,

I recently received an offer from Citadel for FTAP. When I was on the phone with them they stated many benefits which do not appear in the contract, actually they only stated the compensation in the contract.

This is my first contract with a hedge fund in the US and it seems a bit odd to me that benefits are not stated in the contract.

This is actually common at hedge funds, from what i've gathered. The actual contract will have the compensation and other basic info while a lot of other benefits like paid vacation days, sick days, etc., will be "informal." I wouldn't worry too much about it. Citadel is obviously a legit fund, so you shouldn't be concerned.

Congrats on the offer. It's a great place to work right after college since they offer a generous base of $100K+bonus, and it's an awesome name to have on your resume.

If HR is involved, you can always ask nicely - just say, "when discussing the offer , xyz said there woudl be a sign on bonus of X and a reloc bonus of X, but I only see the base listed on the contract. Can we list those other compensation amounts?"

It is actually good to have if you can get it, but don't push hard if she says those are "informal" or on a candidate by candidate basis...

congrats on the offer.
