Corp. Fin. Post IB and PE
Due to the highly competitive nature of post MBA PE positions, many people are forced to settle for a corporate finance job. What compensation could one expect in corp. fin. after an MBA and 2 years in both banking and private equity? How would this compensation progress?
Hi mjbanker, yes, I'm a bot, but I'm also good looking. Hopefully, these threads help you:
Hope that helps.
My guess is that it would be highly dependent on company/industry. As a post-MBA associate with ~2 years of experience, you'd probably come in as a Senior Financial Analyst one level below manager at a typical F500. I'd imagine it wouldn't take someone in this position long to make manager, though.
You will most likely be taking a significant pay cut to exit, but it will be worth it when you realize it is frowned upon to stay in the office significantly past 5:00pm on most days.
Ok, thanks. How hard is it for someone from a LMM PE shop to break back in after an MBA?
To break back into PE?
I imagine they would look favorably upon someone that already has an IB & PE background, especially if you were coming from a top tier MBA program that recruits well into PE.
