Trunk Yeti:
Currently trying to decide between an opportunity in Dallas or Atlanta. Without taking the employers into consideration, which one would you choose and why?

Obviously biased because I'm in Atlanta, but I spent a week in Dallas last year and liked it also. Best brisket I ever had in my life. I know you say "without taking the employers into consideration" but it really might come down to that. Both are major southern cities with a lot to do and a lot of fun to be had.

I'd choose Dallas. Pecan Lodge is the shit, Tex-Mex is killer too, and the weather is much better imo (Dallas isn't as humid as Atlanta). You can also go to Austin and New Orleans every so often, but Atlanta also has access to Florida and South Carolina which are great so don't discount that. Not sure about Atlanta, but Texas in general as a pretty low cost of living (no income tax either).

Part of that is just the number of Trammell Crow alums that stuck around (i.e. every company named was started by or is headed by an old TC guy)... so it kind of is by coincidence.

That said, I like both cities and you can't go wrong. I'm biased towards Atlanta, but I've covered DFW for years and think it's a great spot; just not for me.
