Deutsche Global Markets Program
Hi WSO,
I've recently accepted my offer at Deutsche in Frankfurt (yes, I'm aware of the situation of the bank at the moment). I feel like there is a good fit there and am looking forward to starting the the Global Markets rotational program. I have worked in 2 PWM shops in my home country, a national name and a boutique, as well as a boutique M&A shop in Germany. The M&A internship will probably be the most relevant experience, and since it was a smaller firm the deals were mostly private markets.
The Global Markets program, as it was explained to me, is a rotational program between sales, trading, DCM, and structuring. Because of my experience in private markets, I'm leaning toward DCM and structuring, to avoid the totally unfamiliar s&t. However I also feel like it would be good to experience it all and broaden my horizon.
Has anyone been through this program or currently work in GM at Deutsche (or a similar bank) and can offer some advice?
Thanks Squad
..
Yeah? I'm okay with that structure, but I thought I had the choice of my rotations. Did you go through this program, or what are you basing that off?
..
You have (somewhat) of a choice with your rotations. HR asked for your top preferences for groups/teams and they'll do the same for all the intern managers for each team. It's your job during the placement day to connect with the right people so that the teams you want to rotate through place you high on their preferences list.
Do any of you know who the head of Global Markets at DB is?

I am considering an offer with DB Global Markets and am wondering what some of their stronger trading desks are. I am particularly interested in distressed opportunities and more fundamental types of desks.
DB is great in FX, don't know much about the credit side.
FX and rates are really good. Credit used to be great, no idea how it is now.
Agreed with above.
FX, rates and naturally money markets/repo (global finance) is strong as you need that division to raise all the crazy FX deals that the NY/London books do.
Credit/Structured used to be huge but they have cut back on it, focusing more on the simple client businesses.
Apologies for the slight hijack, but I was wondering if someone could shed some light on the Global Markets interviews for analysts? I've interviewed at a few of the BB's, and surprisingly I have not received a brainteaser or math question yet. Was wondering if DB was known for doing this or any other type of interviewing style?
FX and Rates desks @ DB are usually best in class.

Hello,
I was wondering how is the product research group looked upon in Deutsche Bank. It is in their global market division and the analyst work on the trading floor.
What are the exit opps? What is the pay and hours compared to IB and S&T?
Thank You
BUMP please, I have a SA position in this group and was looking for some feedback.
Thank You

How is the strategy group under Global Markets in DB regarded? Particularly pertaining to FX, and commodities strategy?
Any one familiar with the culture, hours, pay and exit opps in these groups?
Thank You
