Do Analysts Get Business Cards?
Dumb question I guess, but how many of you guys got your own business cards when you first started up as a 1st year slave?

Yes, they all get business cards. Maybe some small Boutiques wont give them out, but they are the exception, not the rule.
Yes, even if you work in operations.
Yes, 1st year analysts do in fact receive business cards and should carry them at their desk and with them to meetings (if ever in attendance). Additionally, I would also recommend slowly accruing a collection of business cards from clients, etc whenever you get them - if for no other reason than to be ready when your D or VP needs the # to so and so from company X - rather than him/her searching through emails, you can pull out the card.
Haha! I've never heard of this idea. Do you keeps notes on them and keep them on a rolladex or something?
that's why your blackberry syncs with your outlook, so you dont feel like a douche walking around with a rolodex "just-in-case"...
Yes, you will get business cards.
You definitely get cards. Definitely keep notes on them (write on the back or if you save this on your computer, take notes there). It'll help you jog your memory when it comes time to shooting them an e-mail. Keep track of anything about kids, family, etc...)
Use color coding like in the Office.
Green means you should go ahead and NOT say it.
Red means stop and say what's on the card.
You forgot Orange, which means orange-you glad you didn't bring that up.
even summer analysts do
Usually not.
That's not true. Depends on where you're at - most BBs typically would
you get to hand them out to college kids during info sessions. its like halloween candy for them
great Office references. cheers
