Depends which boutique and which Canadian bank group. Can you give any specifics?
Don't have an offer in hand but for background I'm a Canadian student with a dual citizenship. I know for a fact I want to be in the U.S so I don't know if it's better to start off at our big 5 here vs a regional boutique in the states or something. I know I'm talking a lot for a guy who hasn't even started recruiting but just want to figure out where I should concentrate my efforts
I heard RBC is TOP BB! so definitely holds weight.
For US PE offices (that I've seen at least) I've only seen RBC (primarily MM funds) and 1 BMO (MM fund) banker haven't seen the rest ever. Haven't seen any of them on any deals actually aside from RBC albiet I've only been in banking for 2 years and primarily deal with large cap M&A
Interesting, thanks for the insight!
If youre gonna stay in Canada, best bet is to aim for EB/BB in Toronto.
I want to move to the U.S
