Don’t know sh** about finance what 5 books do I read ?

What 5 books will give me a strong grasp of knowledge on a vast majority of finance topics? IB, HF, AM, PE….. Etc. Which books will tell me the best stories? What books explain complex concepts the best to a junior monkey ? Buy-side info, trading info, IB info... what is your go to ? What is your top 5 ?

Most Helpful
  1. More Money than God (Mallaby) - A relatively concise history of Hedge Funds
  2. Applied International Corporate Finance (Ernst & Häcker) - Basically a bible for buy-side and sell-side processes in Finance. Written by two german professors, covers pretty much everything. Even though the legal/ valuation aspects are focused on Germany, the processes (due diligence etc.) are universally applicable.
  3. Investment Banking (Rosenbaum & Pearl) - Similar to #2, a broad overview that goes into more detail for advanced stuff when you get to it.
  4. Maybe Liar's Poker (Lewis) - I guess for a light-reading history
  5. Den of Thieves (Stewart) - Account of the time of Drexel Burnham. Good read
