You know it's really fucking annoying dealing with some of you "prospective monkeys." I spend a lot of time going through PMs and I dish out plenty of help, just ask any of the other starred members around here. I spend a lot more time than I need to helping people, and I do it because I enjoy giving something back. I get nothing from it. But, it's really a pain in the ass when somebody PMs me wanting to hear me rubber stamp their dumbass idea or their fantasy plan. I don't need to sit here and debate people when they don't like my advice. If it's real advice you want, then PM me, it's up to you to agree or disagree, but don't sit there and tell me how right your original idea is after you reached out to me for my opinion. If you need me to massage your ego then PM somebody else...I'm not the right guy.
And you know what's even more, you know why culture on this site is shit now? Because college kid assholes like some of the posters above have created a culture too poisonous for any legitimate users to spend much time on here any more. Just some of the posts here are proof of it, all you're doing is discouraging another person from spending a little extra time helping others out. Well played, guys. Rebelcross that is honestly one of the best posts I have seen all week. I'm sick of these young assholes jerking off to the IB or bust fantasy that is engraved in their mind. I know something is wrong with the industry when we have 19 year olds posting about which expensive watches they can buy; and thinking that if they don't work at a top bank then either they are a failure or anyone who doesn't is a failure. I tell you what, outside the world of finance absolutely no one gives a shit what you do or where your work. You rely on your job to get you girls or float your self-esteem then I think most people would define you as a loser.

I've made mistakes, I've could of done better in school, gone to better school but I didn't. One thing I won't do though, is message another person asking them to validate the choices that have led me to this point in life. Don't like what you're doing or how you're living? BOOM. Go fucking change something about it or buy a dog so you have someone who will listen to your shit. Regretting some of the things in undergrad that could have altered your future a bit? BOOM. rebel, I can understand the frustration since there are some users on here that take good advice and repeatedly question it, trying to shape it to what they want to hear. One of the best parts about WSO are the Certified Users giving direct, honest feedback. If too many chimps are pissing you off, I'd encourage you to ignore your PMs and have people post their questions in the forum so that your answers (even if it is not what they want to hear) can at least benefit someone who is willing to listen.
Anyway, thanks for all your help over the years. I am sure it is appreciated by the majority of the users (and 90+% of the visitors of WSO that are just lurkers).

Even though I agree with him, if I didn't, I wouldn't shit on a man for giving his opinion. I think this is another rising issue I've seen in the community as of late: people are giving shit to dissenting opinions rather than giving shit to factually inaccurate or intentionally bad (trolling) content as they should be. I understand there can be a finer line between the two, but this bad habit is doing nothing but killing the diversity of qualified voices on this site and streamlining the central message of each thread into one unified, angsty, prestige-whorish clusterfuck.
