I am currently a high school senior, and I am a prospective finance major (or economics/math if the college I matriculate to does not offer finance). Several sectors that have interested me include investment banking, hedge funds, and private equity.
In order to start developing my resume, I would like to have a busy summer before my freshman year at college. Are there any summer programs for rising college freshman/recent high school graduates? I'm in the NYC area. I'm not expecting anything crazy like an analyst, but I want to get some exposure in the finance field and build my network before I go to college, even it is merely by grabbing people's coffee and whatnot.
How should I begin this search, if it is even feasible? Does anyone know of any specific internship opportunities for people at my age/skill level. If it helps I have some experience on Bloomberg Terminals and am currently taking the certification course. I also have played the virtual stock market game for a little over three months :D
Thank you in advance for any advice!
