If I was you and could make it I would go. If nothing else you can meet new people and make some friends, who knows you might need to call in a favor some day. Not to mention you could help those with stars in their eyes.

It is not a career fair

Just gonna throw this out there, but the event description says that "x, y and z set the rodeo 'apart from other career fairs." May want to consider re-writing if this is not the case, as it seems to be giving off the wrong impression.
