European universities?

I'm an Indian student with a 5.6/7 undergraduate GPA, graduated from one of the best undergraduate business schools in the country with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accountancy. Recently took the GRE and got 321 (I guess I could do 330 if I took it again) and about 9 months of work experience with PwC in Forensic Due Diligence for PE clients.

Given my lack of adequate work experience I definitely can't look at MBAs which leaves me with the option of pursuing pre experience masters. I put in an application for Fuqua's MMS:FOB and Kellog's MSMS but I need to spread my eggs (ideally around Europe).

Took a look at the FT ranking and now I'm consdiering applying to WHU:Beisheim, Mannheim and Erasmus for the MSc programs. However, given my lack of German/Dutch language skills, would it make sense to bother with these unis? Especially since I would like to get a job in the same country (the reason for not applying into Indian schools!) I need to know which countries I could consider.

Really wish UK wasn't so difficult with work permits, London would have made total sense

Yes, I believe they are pretty flexible with that. As far as I know you can also stay in the Netherlands for up to a year to find a job after you graduate. It is a very international country, however some companies do want you to speak dutch. Also, try looking into better uni's then RSM, like LSE, HEC, Esade for example.

I would stay away from whu and mannheim. they are not really suitable for non german speakers. They do teach in english but most of campus life is german and you won't get a job in germany without speaking german. RSM is a different story. But 99% of the people go there for free so i would really invest the money as a non eu. Look at LBS, LSE und HEC. They are probably the best options in Europe and can get you employment anywhere in europe and even have some level of recognition in the us.

Honestly I don't think I can make it into HEC. I had a word with the HEC guys when they were here in Bombay promoting their programs and my GPA wasn't good enough (plus every other Indian is an engineer and they'd rather have them).

LBS can happen though, but it's 30000 pounds a year and no work permit. I would need a job before or as soon as I graduate to stay in Europe and that seems like a very difficult thing to do.

I also keep hearing that Europeans are a lot more reserved than us Anglospheric folks and that could make one feel very uncomfortable.

What do you think of Canada?

i wouldn't take the work permit for granted anywhere in the EU/UK. I personally know of people from India who did not get one after graduating from top European schools with an offer. The reputation and placement of this kind of program in Canada is not very good as they tend to follow a traditional US recruitment process at undergrad and MBA level. Not sure if Rotman releases their stats. There's a new program at McGill but it's the first year they're offering it.

Take it with a grain of salt! I'm participating in a 3 day workshop offered by a Goldman MD at WHU with only like 30 other people and I'm only a Senior at High School. There isn't that much competition within germany and if you know your stuff you will get an offer.

Would choose Mannheim over WHU, costs nothing, better reputation and bigger, more diverse student body. In addition, Mannheim is a good student city while Vallendar is a village and has nothing to offer. It will be much more difficult to connect to other students at WHU as well. I know that there are lots of Indians on Mannheim's campus.

You definitely should learn German if you want to apply there (there are lots of courses in Mannheim and you may want to have a look at VISUM which is a student initiative that offers buddy programs), otherwise it will be hard to find a job. All the best!
