Every Job Has the Same Purpose

As the title states, I believe every job has the same exact purpose: Solve Problems. I know that is a broad statement but I cannot think of a definitive job that does not innately focus on solving problems.

Some rebuttal: Athlete/ Pro Gamer: the problem is the opponent has an objective to score more than you. Your solution is to stop them from scoring and or score more than them.

Another friend of mine gave me the example of the tech executives paid to not work for the competition, but also have no projects/ tasks/ etc. https://www.businessinsider.com/rest-and-vest-mil…

Anyone else find an example where a job is truly not solving any problems (or attempting to)?

A lot of state jobs (at least in the Tri-State area) don't really have a purpose. They are over bloated with people compared to the work required. Most are just there so they can retire and get a pension.

A buddy of mine works for the State Auditor. The work they do compared to Public accounting firms is very low.

Additionally, some jobs solve a problem, but create another problem that has to be solved down the road. For example, selling gas allows people to travel, but also pollutes the atmosphere.
