executive accelerated MSF programs???
Hello all,
New member here. Have read over many posts and am impressed with both wisdom of members and their collegiality in terms of willingness to share it. Any insights you may have would be very helpful to myself and possibly others.
I'm considering a new executive/accelerated/practitioner-focused program from reputable school which is more focused than most MSF programs. It's half accounting and half finance classes (with an IM tilt). 10-mo p/t cohort/lockstep type intensive accelerated program. It is also a CFA-program partner (covers a sig amt of CFA material), which I'm looking to take down the road. It appeals to me because of its practical training for analyst or assistant PM (where financial statement analysis research is very heavy). I'm looking to transition from S&T on the sellside to traditional IM (ie: mutual fund mgr).
Do you think that accelerated/executive-type programs lack credibility on the street? ...so much so that it might not be looked at as an effective way to change career paths?
Also, would a high GPA from executive/accelerated/practitioner-focused program be looked at seriously by MBA/MS admissions down the road if I ever decide to go back for another degree? (I expect to do well)...
Experienced replies much appreciated. Thank you.
