Fabozzi Handbook of MBS
I just got the Fabozzi Handbook of MBS but unfortunately it’s the fifth edition. As far as I can tell it came out in 2001 and thus lacks a lot of important takeaways and lessons from the financial crisis, including but of course not limited to things like the risk retention rules which were spun out of ‘07-‘10.
It’s quite the tomb and I wanted to ask before I dived in, is it still worth reading or would it be better worth my time to get my hands on a more recent copy? Problem is they run between $90-$150 for a new one (this one was like $10). But if it’s truly not worth it I’ll make it happen.
For context I work in CMBS on a structuring / syndication desk.
Analyst 1 in S&T - Other, pure crickets, that's where I come in. Any of these useful?

Hope that helps.
