Favorite Non-Bodybuilding Exercises

What are your guys' favorite non-bodybuilding exercises? My latest favorites are:

-Sled pushes. My gym got a little crossfit/whatever section with a stretch of astroturf and a sled. I LOVE doing sled pushes. I do sprints back and forth with 30 seconds between sets. 1. It allows you to do sprints while moving relatively slowly and making it harder to get injured. 2. It hits your lower body and core musculature pretty hard. Your legs will have a crazy pump if you do it right.

Steel maces. This is a really fun one. It's been around for 2,000 years to train knights and whatnot for swordfighting. Allows you to use a relatively light weight to get a great functional strength workout. Decompresses your shoulders for the most part as opposed to compressing under weight. Works your hands and grip like crazy. The offset is great for your core. And it's just pretty fun.

I'll be getting into steel clubs once I learn the mace more.

I like doing sprints on the row machine too, but I'm always a little scared of hurting my lower back doing those.
Last thing that's not too untraditional that I've been doing is pullups holding hanging towels as the grip instead of the bar. Your limiting factor will be your grip at first, but it will strengthen quickly.
Another thing I want to get into is battle ropes.

What do you guys like to do?

I hear it increases typing efficiency and WPM - I do it daily. In fact it should be mandatory for monkeys in this industry. With that whole excel thing and what not.

I try do a couple of sets (RPE 69) before I go to work and do a few sets before I go to sleep so I can get a good recovery. I would definitely focus on progressive overload and also use both hands to avoid muscle imbalance. Lmk if you want to buy my 10 week training program where I will take you through a detailed nutrition plan and other additional supplements (SARMS) to efficiently build muscle and lose fat at the same time

To be frank, I haven't really explored fancier body-building exercises mentioned above.

Though my favorite hypertrophic moves are essentially all calisthenic exercises. I typically engage in this type of work every other day, carving out 30 minutes to do so, and encapsulates work like: Push-Up (variations), Dips (typical), Squats (weight added), Leg-Raises.

Contrary to what I've just written I also employ free-weights (a set up to 30x30 in my house, I mean parents house), and I usually preform these moves: Overhead Press [(MAX: 50, 25x25 Weight)], Shoulder-Raises (MAX: 20, 10x10), Bicep-Curl (becuz I'm ma bro) (MAX: 25).

[EDIT: I forgot to mention I stretch for 5 minutes prior my session, as far as what moves I preform. I don't know I just kinda gyrate and bend my body a little - oh and raise my arms high and try to touch my toes while keeping my knees straight. You guys know what I'm talking' bout]

My bad I made typo at the beginning - was trying to convey that I haven't really explored non-bodybuilding exercises.

Then I simply proceeded to elaborate what my routine looks like - maybe hoping someone would suggest a new non-bodybuilding exercise.

I live in the American Gardens building on West 81st street. My name is Patrick Bateman. I'm 27 years old. I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now.

Golden, do you have any hacks for losing a few inches on the waist/hips? Lost a bunch of weight the last 2 years and went down from a 38" waist to 30", bought a bunch of 30" pants and then stabilized around 32.5" pant size (ugh!). Any, uh, any easy hacks for getting down to the 30" again without doing a major diet?

Impossible to target certain areas to lose fat in without lipo. Sucks but just gotta cut back on cals or exercise more

That isn't entirely true, while you are correct about targeting a specific area you can somewhat accurately target different types of fat. For example the fat buildup on your stomach is a different type of fat that builds up on your face. The chemical composition and bonds that form are slightly different and youj can target that difference with diet. This doesn't mean you will only lose fat on your gut but you can more easily lose that fat than you would otherwise.

For a bodybuilder with no equipment, press-ups are his best friend! The secret to building mass with press ups is to do them slowly with low. You might see a token landmine press, goblet squat or inverted row but these less run-of-the-mill exercises are few and far between.

I saw this old thread got bumped - if you’ve never strapped yourself to a car and towed it by yourself, you haven’t lived life.
