Feeling Lost - Graduated with job in Fintech
Hi Everyone,
I'm lost. Graduated in May from a non-target with 3.9+ GPA. Wanted to go into banking but completely dropped the ball and did not get a junior summer banking internship (was late to the game). Worked at a HF instead. Pushed banking hard my senior summer, networking, speaking to people, sending out resumes, etc. but to no avail. Accepted a job in the fintech industry and am hating it because I am not learning anything related to finance and getting no relevant experience.
I'm thinking I can make a push out considering I passed level I of the CFA Program, had decent internship experience, and had a strong GPA, however I do not know how realistic that is. Part of me feels like if I put the time into studying up and getting interview ready, essentially becoming a machine, I can pull out a banking gig at a boutique. The other part of me thinks it's damn near impossible to pull off considering I graduated from a non-target, never had banking experience and have no relevant experience in my current job.
It boils down to: Do I push banking? Do I push something else in finance like equity research? Do I stick with my job since it's only been a few months? Do I study for level II?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Oh poor you, you got a 3.9 GPA and a job at a hedge fund out of undergrad. Quit acting like a moron and get off this website
Sorry if that wasn't clear. Interned at the HF my junior summer. Currently working at a fintech company
Dude do you know how many people on here dream of working at a hedge fund? Stop complaining
