I had the chance to meet with Alex Klikoff before he lauched Fintan in 2005.  He launched this fund of funds with about $150mn in friends and family money including a large investment from the chairman of Stanford's board of trustees.  The founder, Alex, was in charge of absolute return strategies for Stanford's endowment and had a great track record prior to Fintan.  He is incredibly intelligent and Fintan is certainly one of the most sosphisticated fund of funds out in the market place. I don't know how large they have become now but it does seem like a place that is on the up and up.  They really do their due dilligence on the funds they consider and the really put managers on the spot in investment meetings.  I know RenTech's fund of funds speaks very highly of their investing savvy.

Fintan received founding investments from Stanford University and Regis Managemet Company.  It now manages roughly $325mn which is pretty small for a fund of funds.  It's money mainly comes from HNW individuals and foundations.  I know they are growing and hiring pretty aggresively.  That is about all I know about them.
