First or second round?

When is it best to apply to b-school? I know the third round should be avoided since there are typically very few spots left, but what about first round vs. second round? Advice appreciated.

Both rounds are about the same
Round 1 normally gets the most competitive candidates - high GMAT , GPA and top level work ex - but then round 1 also normally has a higher acceptance rate than round 2
I would suggest doing 2-3 schools in round 1 and 2-3 in round depending on how apps go
