First round interview VS Second round interview

Hi Everyone! How are yous?

What is the difference between the first round and second round interviews? Are they the same except its just interviewing with different people? OR Is it if the first round interview was behavioral question then the second round interview would be technical questions?

I am confused... Can they ask similar types of questions both in the first round interview and the second round interview?

Please help me with good comments

Many THANKS

There are many threads on this. 1st round usually more technical to screen people. 2nd round: more fit, but can be both technical and fit.

Hey, just went through the process with Barcap. They're pretty quick, I had second round the day after the first. They got back to me the following day as well. 2nd round was 100% behavioral, I was asked what I think of the markets and questions from my resume. For ex: what stocks do you have in your trading account and why?

I also think it depends on your background, I'm a Math major and I wasn't asked any finance related questions and surprisingly no brain teasers as well. From talking to other people it seems like 2nd round is a lot more behavioral than the 1st in general since its with more senior people.

Hope that helps.

on bank to bank. I've seen instances where they've given first round interviews to about 35 and only took 10 to the superday.

One of my friends at the bank said that 150 kids from my school dropped, and in the end, they took only 10 to superday and maybe gave out 4-6 offers (depending).

So the chances are kind of eh. I'd say usually less 1/4 to 1/3 of the 1st rounders go on. But that's just speculation and observation.
