Full time recruiting Hedge Funds 2021

Answered this in another thread but most HFs don't hire people out of undergrad unless you're looking at larger funds such as citadel, p72, etc. If you don't have a summer internship it's going to be much harder to do FT recruiting regardless of the covid-19 situation. Try to get something if you can, even if it's remote and shortened. Without a summer internship, you can at best try to email funds and ask for an internship if they're willing to hire someone but forget about recruiting FT for a HF without any internship exp tbh

put all your contacts in excel. then their contacts that could be family offices etc. you should offer to work for minimum wage or free at a small fund and offer value add things in some pitch to them like do all the mechanical data gathering of companies, put together market trackers, call companies for channel checks, set up IR calls. just think of some things that’ll make the HF PM go wow this kid will make my life a little easier at no cost....then maybe later he might wanna train you

maybe it’s a lot of ops stuff but try to work close with research. I know guys that interned in ops and move to research at 5-10 person shops. it’s not uncommon at the right place
