What do you mean by factor based? What other firms are like that?
What sort of a quant firm do you work in? What is your role at your firm?
Factor based, meaning investing in equities based on factors like shareholder yield, price-to-sales and price-to-earnings, momentum, buybacks, dividends, and so forth. The firm that I work for is a factor-based asset manager, and I happen to know of a few portfolio managers that didn't come from a STEM background and are doing quite well for themselves.
Makes sense ... do you think I will have career flexibility long run? Like what can I do if I leave the firm? What sorts of firms would be open to my background?
Note that I am not a trader but I will be doing fundamental work that helps the traders.
