Getting Hired as a Trader at IB

Hi mates,
Does someone know how to get into S&T department at IB only having trading skills and trading records ?
I mean, if someone is a great trader but out of school for about 5-7 years or never even went to college and finally decided to work for bank?
Will that person have a chance to be hired by a bank?
What steps he/she should take ?
What if that person has no connections ? What if have ?
Thanks in advance,

S&T is a highly pedigreed program, and like the below poster said, without a college degree, these days it's near impossible to get hired into the aforementioned by a full service investment bank. Thing is, S&T isn't looking for great traders necessarily- they're looking for people who've established a reputation through undergraduate/graduate institutions.

Without a college degree in 2014, I would wager that the only places you might have a shot at are small, small prop shops based around chicago- no clue about new york.

@"Edmundo Braverman" is really the person you want to talk to about breaking into S&T from a non traditional background

.

Your best bet other than prop shops would be a smaller firm. Forget about big IB's. Just focus on smaller shops where it's easier to network and less rigid in terms of hiring.

Problem you face is also that you don't have an alumni network to tap into to network with. Your best option would be to network through a trade group, i.e. a local traders organization in your city. Google and look around. Let us know how things go.
